Light Rigid Truck Training

Light Rigid (LR) Licence

The Light Rigid licence allows you to drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4.5 to 8 tonnes. This is the first step into the heavy vehicle industry and is ideal for small delivery trucks, light commercial vehicles, and mini buses.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current Class C (car) licence for at least 1 year
  • Minimum age of 19 years
  • Pass a medical assessment if required by Roads and Maritime Services
  • Valid proof of identity

Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence

The Heavy Rigid licence enables you to drive trucks with 3 or more axles and a GVM over 8 tonnes. This includes large rigid trucks, concrete agitators, tippers, and large buses with more than 2 axles.
